“I want to take you to Antelope Island!”
That is what my friend told me when I told her I’d be coming to Utah.
“No thanks.” Was my immediate response.
Especially once she told me that the buffalo roam free. I was not trying to get trampled my a buffalo in Utah! Eventually I relented and let her take me this magical place. First off, I never saw any antelope. But I did see plenty of buffalo and I escaped unharmed. Antelope Island is in the middle of the Great Salt Lake and hour or so outside of Salt Lake City. It is technically a state park with hiking, biking and camping facilities. I believe there are also tours available, although we just roamed on our own. If I saw it in a guide book I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. But now that I’ve been not going would have been a loss for sure.
