about me

I started my first blog in 2007 to document my weight loss journey. I was living in Atlanta and need a sounding board and a means of holding myself accountable.  In 2014 I started a travel blog to journal my domestic and international adventures. I have now combined those 2 sites into one and added a third component, my entrepreneurial aspirations.

In January of 2015 I left a rising career at the IRS to start my own business. Once I started working at IRS it didn’t take me long to realize that I wasn’t your typical government employee and I wasn’t going to find my true happiness inside of a GSA building. So against the advice of most of my family and co-workers I walked away from my salary, retirement plan and health benefits to try on this entrepreneur lifestyle.  Since that time I have experienced more joy, felt less stress and encountered more positive people than I did in 20 years of employment. I don’t assume to have all the answers.  I am a daughter. A sister. An auntie. A girlfriend. And an AKA. I don’t claim to be a millionaire. And honestly I don’t want to be.

I’m not going to show you how to make money getting Instagram followers or travel the world on a private jet while drinking Ace of Spades champagne. All I’m going to do is be me. I want to earn a living doing what I want to do when I want to do it. I want to travel – all the time. I want to eat good food and meet nice people. I hope to be able to share the nuggets of wisdom that I learn while on this journey.  I am fully embracing this entrepreneurial lifestyle. I hope you will too.
